自己冷却型データセンター
私たちが描く究極的なデータセンターは”self-cooling data center”なのです。CPUやGPUの出す熱量は吸着式冷凍機を駆動させるのには十分な温度があります。これらのCPUやGPUの熱で吸着式冷凍機を駆動させ、作り出した冷熱を作ってコンピューターの冷却に使う。これは車でいうところのターボチャージャーの様な仕組みと言えましょう。この仕組みが一般化する事で、データセンターは需要のあるところの近くに、データセンターを設置可能です。人工知能の需要は、効率の良いデータセンターの需要をさらに強力に後押しするでしょう。

The ultimate vision we have for data centers is the “self-cooling data center.” The heat generated by CPUs and GPUs is more than enough to drive an adsorption chiller. By using this heat to power the chiller, we can produce cold energy to cool the computers. This system is similar to a turbocharger in a car, where the engine’s own output is used to enhance its performance.
As this concept becomes more widespread, data centers will be able to be located closer to where there is demand. The increasing need for artificial intelligence will further accelerate the demand for more efficient data centers.
