地方自治体との協力
データセンターを作る条件として、電気代が安く、冷涼な気候の場所というのが従来の定説でした。しかし私たちの吸着冷凍機は、温泉程度の温度でも吸着冷凍機を駆動することが可能で、しかもその冷凍機を駆動した温泉水はそのまま浴用にも使うことができるのです。火山列島である日本では、温泉の熱を使って冷熱エネルギーを使うことによって、冷涼な場所というデーターセンターの設置条件が無くなると考えています。
多くの温泉は主に地方にあり、地方創生に協力できるのではと考えています。
Traditionally, the ideal locations for building data centers have been places with low electricity costs and cool climates. However, our adsorption chiller can operate using heat sources as low as the temperature of hot spring water—and what’s more, the water used to drive the chiller can still be used afterward for bathing.
In Japan, a volcanic archipelago rich in geothermal resources, we believe this technology can eliminate the need for data centers to be located in naturally cool regions. Since most hot springs are found in rural areas, this approach also has the potential to contribute to regional revitalization efforts.
